On Monday I took the last exam of my 1L year. Woot woot!! The jury’s still out on how I did, but one thing is for sure, I finished the year out in style.
Nothing says “school girl” like this pleated skater skirt from GoJane and boyfriend blazer. My custom crop top isn’t school issued, but what good is there in being a school girl if you don’t break a few rules? Eat your heart out boys!

Another day, another all black ensemble. At this point, I really can’t help it.
It’s a sunny spring day so I opted to show just a little bit of skin with this casually glam look created by pairing a simple asymmetrical maxi dress with a pair of studded sandals.

Black and I pretty much go together like peanut butter and jelly. I also go pretty well with breaking fashion rules. In fact, I hate most fashion rules. So, trust me when I say I didn’t have any problem tossing on these white sling backs after Labor Day. Sue me!
Today I rocked an all-black ensemble with a white slingback shoe just to add a little visual interest. (I was feeling kinda “Kanye-inspired”.) I paired my favorite black boyfriend blazer and a black racerback tee (both from H&M) with a pair of harem pants from Forever 21. The blazer retails for $32, the tank retails for $10, and the I got the harem pants on sale for $8.
Total cost (minus shoes): $50

Yeah, yeah. Where have I been? I know. Now that we got that out of the way. Let’s talk about what I wore today! lol.
I have to admit, I felt super cute today and so I figured today made for the perfect day to end my blogging drought. Because I just had to show you guys all the cuteness. lol.
I recently purchased this faux leather skirt from Forever 21. I had to take it and get the waist taken in, so I was super excited to get it back from the tailor and honestly couldn’t wait to wear it. I decided to pair it with my monogrammed varsity letterman from H&M and then added my favorite knit hat from GAP.
Faux Leather Skirt – $17, Forever 21; Monogrammed Varsity Letterman – $50, H&M; Knit Hat – $25, GAP; Black sheer tights – $3.50, Forever 21
Now, LET’S TALK ABOUT THESE SHOES!
I have been in love with Christian Siriano and his work from the moment I saw him on Project Runway. His attention to detail and his knack for creativity is just everything to me. So when he started doing a line of shoes with Payless a few years ago, I made sure to keep my eye on the collection so I could jump on the opportunity to own a pair. I recently came across the pair of suede faux snakeskin booties during a late night online shopping session and fell in love! I waited anxiously by the mailbox everyday (No, really. I did.) until they finally arrived. And they did not disappoint!
Faux Snakeskin & Suede Booties – $60, Christian Siriano for Payless
I thought these awesome shoes would be the perfect touch of detail for my look today and I have to say, I pretty happy with the way it all came together.
What do you think of what I wore today?

Today is a special edition of “What I Wore Today”. I was recently gifted an awesome body chain from Sugar Scout LA and I’ve been looking for the perfect opportunity to wear it. Well, instead of waiting for the opportunity to present itself, I decided to create one. That opportunity is called “Wednesday”. lol
Whether intricately detailed or a single strand design, body chains are a great way to add a touch of bling to an outfit or swimsuit. This particular chain is a simpler design that simply drapes over the neck and hooks around your back. And it’s actually named after me…how cool is that?!
I decided to pair the gold version of the Blake Body Chain–it also comes in silver and gunmetal–with a black tie-waist crop top from H&M, a pair of black harem pants from Forever 21 and topped it all off with my super bad a** platform wedges by Michael Antonio.
Check out how I put it all together below…
H&M black tie-top – $14.80; Forever 21 harem pants – $8.99 (on sale); Michael Antonio wedges – $50 (on sale); Aldo watch – $35
Because this design worn around the neck, I find that I like it best worn underneath my clothing as opposed to on top…a “surprise detail” if you will.
Like what I wore today? Head over to Sugar Scout LA and grab your own “Blake Body Chain”. Send me pics when you do!

ALL BLACK EVERYTHING! I love me some black. Anytime someone asks me what my favorite color is I always say black. I’m not sure if it’s really my favorite color or if I just say that because it’s the color I like to wear the most. Whatever the case, here’s what I wore today…
I got this faux fur vest from Forever 21 a few months ago on sale for $7.99. I’ve been waiting for cooler weather.
I belted it with a belt from a pair of shorts in my closet and tossed on my favorite black necklace.
Even my nails are black! (Although they’ve been that way for a few weeks now. Gotta love those gel manicures, huh?)
I paired it with a simple pair of black tights and black rider boots from Aldo.
Right before I walked out the door, I grabbed my varsity jacket from H&M to make sure I didn’t freeze to death in my office. And good thing I did, because someone decided to leave the windows open all weekend. Yikes!
What I wore today…take it or leave it?

Even though today is a “sit in class ALL day” kinda day, I still wanted to be cute and comfortable. I opted to wear my yellow sundress since the weather is still nice but I wasn’t quite up for sandals or wedges; hence, my combat style boots. I love the combination of soft and hard!
I also tossed on my black H&M blazer because I knew it would be cold in class.
Thoughts on what I wore today?

Since my birthday was this week, I’ve been spoiling myself a bit. ASOS and H&M have gotten a great deal of my money over the last couple of days.
Take a look at some of the things I bought! (Sorry, wasn’t quite up to “modeling” things today, but I’m sure these pieces will be featured in a What I Wore Today post in the near future.)
I’ve sort of become known for my–as one of my readers put it–”wicked wedges”. So you know when I see a pair of hot wedges, I compulsively click “add to cart”.
This pair I got from ASOS. I love the glitter and the added black detail on the platform of the wedge!
I also got these simple black lace-up wedges with a straw heel from ASOS. Trying to gear up for the fall.
I also got this cute overnight bag and a varsity style jacket from H&M.
I’ve been trying to get my hands on one of these for a while now, but I refused to buy one with some random letter on it. So how cool is it that I found one with a “B” on it?! It was fate!
Did you guys buy anything neat this week?

Guess what?! Yesterday was my birthday! (And yes, I’m still recovering.) My day was awesome and a special THANK YOU to all the people who came out to help me celebrate!
You guys wasted no time wanting to know what I wore and the details on where to find it, so here goes…
Past birthdays I’ve always done the typical “sexy dress”, so this year I wanted to do something a little different. I kept it bright & cheery this year with a yellow sundress, a white cocktail ring from H&M, a white Michael Kors blazer and a pair of multi-color Steve Madden wedges.
Ring retails for $5.95 from H&M but I got it for .95! I had a $5 gift card that came free with a previous H&M purchase.
My birthday shoes!!!
Sorry ladies, you may have to wait a while to get your hands on these. I bought them at the Steve Madden store in Soho, which just happens to be the only store in all of NYC that carries them. They were a “test shoe” so they only got one in every size. So I’m literally the only size 6.5 in all of NYC with this shoe. Whoop whoop! #fancy and #exclusive. But dry your tears…they were selling like hot cakes so I’m sure other stores will be getting them very soon.
P.S. And a super special thank you to “you” for my beautiful roses.
