What I Wore This Week

It’s been a while since I posted a “What I Wore”…mostly because law schools/law school professors are sadists who derive pleasure from watching 1L’s suffer. Ugh! But anyways, I figured I would stop being negligent (see, I’m even starting to blog like a lawyer) and update you guys on what’s shakin’ in my closet. Sidenote: I’ve added on some new writers to keep you guys entertained when I’m being a total slacker. Be looking out for them!

So here’s what I wore this week…

Monday

You guys know I love me some black. Monday was no exception. I wore a pair of black harem pants from Forever 21 over top a black shorts romper (also from Forever 21) and added some visual detail with a vintage beaded vest that I purchased from Goodwill a few years ago. I chose to play off my skin tone by completing the outfit with a pair of brown leather platform wedges.

What I Wore This Week

This was a big week for me. It was my first week of law school! (…and my 25th birthday!) I’m super excited about this new phase of my life, but if you think that I’ll be trading in my fun, flirty digs for a stuffy, conservative new wardrobe…you’re sorely mistaken! You can just call me ‘Elle Woods’ from here on out. lol

I had a moment of panic when I got the email last week instructing me to arrive in “business casual” attire for the week, because honestly, I didn’t own a single thing that I felt fit that description. But when you have limited funds (you know how that broke grad student life is) and limited time to scrape things together…you get creative. I purchased a few staple pieces and mixed & matched the rest from items I already had in my wardrobe.

What I Wore Today ft. Out of My Kloset Boutique

K.I.S.S. = Keep it simple [for] summer! That’s today motto.

One thing I love about summer is the fact that putting together a cute outfit can involve minimal clothing and very few accessories. The wonderful ladies over at Out of My Kloset Boutique sent me this cute asymmetrical neon dress so I decided to take it out for a stroll.

What I Wore Today

ALL BLACK EVERYTHING! I love me some black. Anytime someone asks me what my favorite color is I always say black. I’m not sure if it’s really my favorite color or if I just say that because it’s the color I like to wear the most. Whatever the case, here’s what I wore today…

I got this faux fur vest from Forever 21 a few months ago on sale for $7.99. I’ve been waiting for cooler weather.

I belted it with a belt from a pair of shorts in my closet and tossed on my favorite black necklace.

Even my nails are black! (Although they’ve been that way for a few weeks now. Gotta love those gel manicures, huh?)

I paired it with a simple pair of black tights and black rider boots from Aldo.

Right before I walked out the door, I grabbed my varsity jacket from H&M to make sure I didn’t freeze to death in my office. And good thing I did, because someone decided to leave the windows open all weekend. Yikes!

What I wore today…take it or leave it?

What I Bought on Vacation

You’ve probably noticed that my poor little blog has been on life support lately. Like, real near to death. Well, it’s because I’ve been living the life of a wanna-be jetsetter and between my limited internet access and sightseeing, I haven’t had much time to blog. Well, I’m back to share some of the things I bought while on vacation. Hope you guys missed me as I much as I missed you.

Despite my hopes, LA was really not that warm. So I ended up stopping in Forever 21 and picking up this blazer one night while sightseeing. The tribal print just jumped out at me and I had to have it.

Earrings: $18; Aldo

The earrings I got from Aldo while shopping in Vegas. I was a little reluctant to buy them just because I wasn’t sure where I would ever wear them. But with earrings this fabulous…you FIND somewhere to wear them! And I did.

Macy’s was having a really awesome sale so I decided to take a stroll through and see what they had. That’s where I found this cute little summer dress, which I’m sooo glad I found because I was in desperate need of one.
