You ever scroll through Instagram or watch a makeup tutorial and think to yourself, “I have got to step my game up!” Just when I think my collection is nearing greatness and I’m getting good with my application, I come across another tutorial that makes me question it all.
Lucky for me, I was recently sent this bag of goodies from Make Up For Ever. I have a growing collection of foundations, but I was excited to test out their new Ultra HD Liquid Foundation. Being darker complected, it can be so tough for me to find foundations that match my skintone. Either the brand doesn’t carry a shade dark enough or my oily skin causes the foundation to oxidize and turn a not-so-flattering shade of orange. Yuck! Luckily I didn’t run into that problem with the HD foundation. The answer was their 3 step process.
I first started by applying a primer. I’d actually never used a primer before because I always thought it was beyond my level of expertise. I didn’t want to bite off more than I could chew. But this time around I decided to step out of my comfort zone a little. The primer really helped to smooth and hydrate my skin, which meant the foundation went on smoother and stayed true to shade longer. The foundation itself was a wonderful surprise. I was really shocked at how smooth and lightweight it was. That’s one of my biggest concerns when shopping for a foundation. I hate that sticky heavy feeling. This foundation was perfect! I set the look with Make Up For Ever’s High Definition Powder and it stayed put all day. I did a full day of shoots and not once did I have to reapply or worry that I had turned orange.
See for yourself!
