Even though I’m a fashion blogger, one thing I really don’t care that much about are designer clothes. They’ve never been something I could really afford so I learned to develop my own personal style without the need for high ticket items. Now that doesn’t mean I don’t find them beautiful and I certainly wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to own a vintage Chanel. But I’m just not one of those bloggers who feels the need to always be wearing or blogging about the newest runway exclusives in order to be current and relevant. (Talk to me once I hit the lotto, I may feel differently. lol).

That said, as my blog has grown, the price tags on the items I’m gifted have gotten increasingly higher. It’s a reality I’ve struggled with. This space—and the women I’ve gotten to know through it—literally saved me from one of the darkest periods in my life. You guys accepted and encouraged me when I was at my lowest. Back when I was taking pictures on a $75 camera and shopping at thrift stores—not because I was “hip,” but because it’s all I could afford. And it’s important to me that I never forget that. I never want to be one of those bloggers who people look at and say, “I remember when she used to be .” I never want the people who’ve supported me to feel like I’m moving on and becoming someone they can no longer relate to. But I’ve realized that’s me not giving YOU GUYS enough credit for all of the things I love most about you. You’re doctors, lawyers, teachers and budding creative professionals who work hard for the things you want and because of that are also seeing your price points change. While I’m growing and maturing, so are you guys. And that’s what I love most about this little corner of the internet I’ve carved out. We’re all pretty bad ass.

So basically what I’m saying is…you guys are stuck with me. We’re in this thing together! TO THE END. Designer labels or not.
